In the darkest days of December, 2020, when NYC was being battered into a shell of itself by the pandemic, Joe Denardo (Growing, Ornament) encouraged Dan Wise (Honey, Psychic Ills, Kill Me Tomorrow) to start jamming some songs Dan had been sitting on. After a few years & different personnel, the Cool Whip sound coalesced &  Flame in My Heart was born.  From straight ahead rockers (“Trapt,” “Oblivion,” “Believer”), psychedelic slow burners (HURRICANE), the NYC homage title track (“Flame in My Heart”), to the John Cale cover “Emily,” & more, this is a rock’n’roll record.
